Kalayaan Hall

Freedom Hall

kalayaan hall

The Philippine Center features two distinctive event venues: Kalayaan Hall, located on the ground floor adjacent to the lobby, and Sentro Rizal-Museo ng Lahing Pilipino, located on the fifth floor.

Kalayaan Hall, meaning “freedom” in Tagalog, is an elegant and historic venue featuring a soaring ceiling of more than 20 feet. With approximately 2,750 square feet of space, the hall can accommodate up to 100 guests and is well suited for cultural programs, receptions, conferences, and other special events.

The hall’s original Renaissance- and Baroque-inspired architectural details, including its ornate ceiling and columns, were carefully restored by a team of restoration experts in accordance with the building’s original 1916 architectural design. Adding to its grandeur, the elaborately detailed ceiling is adorned with clusters of handcrafted capiz (mother-of-pearl) chandeliers, made in the Philippines and reflecting the country’s rich tradition of craftsmanship and artistry.
